This cool area lies 12–20 km from the sea, with mean February (ripening stage) temperatures of 19–20 °C. Soils are predominantly ferruginous, iron-rich gravel on highly weathered Bokkeveld Group shale. The vineyards sit at 200–300 m altitude. Table Mountain sandstone mountains rise 500–1 000 m, surrounding the area and sheltering it from strong summer southeasterly winds.

This premium red blend consists of Merlot and Shiraz. The Merlot grapes underwent destemming, and whole berries fermented in a stainless-steel tank. Pump-overs twice daily allowed soft, gentle extraction of fruity flavours and tannins. The Shiraz was whole-bunch fermented in open-top wooden fermenters. Punch-downs twice daily released juice from the crushed berries. After fermentation, pressing followed. The two wines were blended post-malolactic fermentation and aged 6 months in tank with specially selected oak staves from various French forests.

An explosion of fresh ripe red berry fruits on the nose. Red cherry aromas mingle with soft oaky creamy notes and entice further. Just enough soft tannin grip on the palate makes this an easy-drinking wine, ending with a long juicy finish.
