Everyone could use a refreshed look now and again, and it’s no different with wine. We’ve given our Elgin Vintners range a packaging update, rolled out over the last few months as new vintages have been released.
“The updated look is more nip and tuck than facelift – we wanted to clean up the brand elements, create a more elegant look in line with the premium quality of our wines, and tell the story of our special cool climate location,” Elgin Vintners winemaker and business manager Dr Marinda Kruger said.
The new-look labels depict Elgin Vintners’ location in the mountainous Elgin Valley, with hand-drawn illustrations of the classic views of mountains, vineyards and orchards, the Palmiet River running through the vineyards, our barrel cellar and beloved basket press, and the historic Oude Brug, the first bridge built over the Palmiet River in 1811.
Our white Bordeaux blend The Century is distinguished with a sketch of Douglas Moodie, a pioneer of the Elgin Valley fruit industry whose vision and efforts were celebrated with the wine named in his honour when it was first made for his 100th birthday.
The new labels give more prominence to the cultivar of each wine, with the name printed in a shade matching the colour found in the glass.
All of the Elgin Vintners bottles are now closed with wax, to lift their presentation as premium wines, except for the more youthful Sauvignon Blanc under screwcap.
The critically-acclaimed customer favourite Belle Amie Blanc de Noir in its Provencal-style bottle along with the site-specific Ridgelands range and easy-drinking Cloud Haven wines, each have their own distinctive look, but still related to the overall Elgin Vintners brand.
